8 Tips for new or aspiring yoga teachers

Sharing some simple suggestions for new yoga teachers before leading a class 🧘‍♀️

.

🌸First of all, please don’t be teaching from an empty cup. Your own practice time is of utmost importance. Don’t trade that for multiple classes.

.

🌸More than actually teaching a class, allow it to be a sharing. Sharing and offering from your own experiences.

.

🌸Let there be surety in the words and clarity in the voice. The voice is the main form communication during a class. Power in the voice and softness in the heart.

.

🌸Demonstrate where needed, but remember it’s not your practice time!

.

🌸Don’t take yourself too seriously, it’s always fun to share a joke and have a good laugh.

.

🌸Respect space of the student and don’t be pushy. It’s okay if everything is not perfect.

.

🌸Learn to adapt. You may have a set sequence for the class but be open to modifying it. There may be some not ready for it.

.

🌸Don’t forget you are the one learning the most out of this. So be open to receiving not just focused on giving.
